Dr. Ketty Anyeko is an interdisciplinary scholar and practitioner of justice, reparations, peacebuilding, gender, and development. She is the founder and President of Ketty’s Consults, but also does teaching and research with the Center for Criminology and Sociolegal Studies at the University of Toronto. She previously worked as an instructor and researcher with the Research Network on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) affiliated with the University of British Columbia (UBC) and Simon Fraser University (SFU). She holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies from UBC and MA in Peace Studies from Notre Dame University in United States.
With a prestigious award from Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship, Ketty conducted a doctoral research on women’s senses of justice and reparations in Uganda. She is currently working with University of Toronto Press to turn this into a book. She has two decades’ experience in programme planning and implementation, leadership, and strategic planning for various institutions. She previously conducted action research, policy advocacy and documentation with conflict-affected communities through non-profit organizations in northern Uganda and interdisciplinary scholarly work. She has engaged with conflict-affected communities, justice advocates, government leaders, politicians, non-profits, sociolegal and policy makers in Uganda, Canada, Philippines, Cambodia, and United States among others. Ketty serves on the boards of several organisations around the world and has a passion for mentoring the next generation of world leaders and change makers.
